3. Business, Commercial, and Vending Opportunities in Railways

  • Railway Ticket Booking Agencies (IRCTC Agents / Authorized Ticketing): Individuals and businesses can apply to become authorized IRCTC ticketing agents (via principal service providers or IRCTC directly), enabling them to book reserved and unreserved tickets for passengers and earn commissions.
  • Platform Vending & Catering Contracts (IRCTC / Zonal Railways): Stalls, trolley catering, and multi-utility booths on railway platforms are allocated through open competitive tenders published on IRCTC and zonal commercial portals. Aspirants must meet financial and security clearance criteria.
  • Procurement, Works, and Supply Tenders (IREPS): The Indian Railways E-Procurement System (IREPS) handles tenders for station cleaning, track maintenance supplies, construction work, and material procurement. Contractors and micro-enterprises can register digitally with a Class-III Digital Signature Certificate (DSC) to bid.
  • Advertising & Station Branding Tenders: Opportunities exist for commercial entities to acquire advertising rights on train exteriors, interiors, platform hoardings, and digital display screens through Zonal Commercial Departments.

4. Manufacturing, Production Units, and Maintenance Jobs

  • Railway Production Units: Major manufacturing hubs include Integral Coach Factory (ICF, Chennai), Rail Coach Factory (RCF, Kapurthala), Modern Coach Factory (MCF, Rae Bareli), Diesel Locomotive Works (DLW, Varanasi), and Chittaranjan Locomotive Works (CLW). These units recruit engineers, technicians, and apprentices through specialized RRB notifications and Act Apprentice intakes.
  • Maintenance & Workshop Careers: Zonal workshops handle periodic overhauling (POH) of coaches, wagons, and locomotives. Mechanical, electrical, and electronic technicians secure stable careers here through ITI and diploma quotas.

5. Strategic Reservation Analysis & The “Reservation Trap” for Rajput Aspirants

  • Central Quota Structure: In central public employment and recruitment, structured reservation allocates 27% to OBC, 15% to SC, 7.5% to ST, and 10% to EWS, leaving the remaining pool for Open Merit.
  • The “Reservation Trap”: Because Rajput candidates typically do not fall under traditional reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC), they must compete either in the intensely contested Open Merit pool or under the 10% EWS quota (subject to income and asset criteria).
  • Overcoming the Trap via Excellence: Academic frameworks like the Rajput Mother Academy (RMA) emphasize that relying solely on minimum thresholds is insufficient. Rajput youth must target exceptional scores through rigorous daily study routines, mastery over mathematics, reasoning, and general science, and strategic preparation to secure selection regardless of quota limitations.

Important Note for Rajput Aspirants

Indian Railways is the largest job producer in the country, offering immense scope across public employment, vendor businesses, and small-to-large scale tendering methods.

Rajput students should always search for jobs and official notifications exclusively on the official Indian Railways and RRB websites.

Regarding reference books, you are free to choose materials from any platform of your choice. Please note that the Rajput Mother Academy (RMA) does not publish or sell exam books directly; however, we are actively building our own platform to feature and provide recommended books from various expert writers very soon.

Every Rajput student will be provided with complete educational books and resources. Keep patience, stay dedicated, and work hard!
