Engineering is one of the most promising career paths for Rajput students, offering opportunities in technology, innovation, research, entrepreneurship, government services, and global industries. Every year, approximately 19,000 engineering seats are available across the IITs in India. Among these, approximately 9,500 seats are available through the Open (General/UR) and EWS categories. Rajput students generally compete for admission in the General (Open) and EWS categories, while female students may also benefit from Female Supernumerary Seats wherever applicable.

Despite the availability of these opportunities, it is estimated that only about 500 Rajput students currently secure admission to IIT engineering programmes each year. Financial challenges, limited awareness, inadequate career guidance, and difficulty accessing authentic admission information remain some of the major obstacles.

Introduction to JEE Advanced

JEE Advanced is India’s premier national-level engineering entrance examination conducted annually by one of the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) under the guidance of the Joint Admission Board (JAB). It is the gateway for admission to undergraduate programmes offered by the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). Only candidates who qualify JEE Main and are among the eligible top-ranked candidates, subject to the prevailing eligibility criteria, are permitted to appear for JEE Advanced.

For Rajput students, admission to an IIT represents an opportunity to receive world-class technical education, develop innovation and research skills, achieve professional excellence, and contribute to the technological and economic development of India. Engineering education at the IITs provides strong academic foundations, global recognition, leadership opportunities, entrepreneurship exposure, and excellent career prospects. Students should carefully verify the latest eligibility criteria, examination pattern, syllabus, important dates, application process, category-wise reservation policy, fee structure, scholarship schemes, and admission guidelines from the official JEE Advanced and JoSAA websites before applying. During JoSAA counselling, candidates should select IITs and engineering branches only after carefully analysing their JEE Advanced rank, previous-year opening and closing ranks, institute rankings, placement records, faculty, research facilities, laboratories, accreditation, internship opportunities, alumni network, campus infrastructure, and geographical location.

The total number of IIT seats, reservation policies, female supernumerary seats, tuition fees, hostel fees, scholarships, admission schedules, and counselling procedures may change every year.
